  • Interview more than one or two firms. Choosing a personal injury law firm is an important decision. To find a firm that best represents your interests, compare what each firm offers.
  • Examine the firm’s expertise, track record, and verdicts awarded.
  • Read Reviews. Consider the Traut Injury Law’s reviews, whether they’re Google Reviews, Super Lawyers, or Yelp.com. Please read them carefully to  understand the client’s experience. Reviews matter.
  • Consider the personality of the office. Ask yourself if you feel comfortable.
  • Does the firm offer a free consultation?
  • Will the firm work on contingency?
  • Is the firm willing to go to court on your behalf?

Sporting/Recreational/Concert Event Incidents

Can you sue if you get hit by an errant axe at an axe throwing facility? What about rowdy or violent fans? What if are hurt by someone or a condition at a concert venue? The answers to those questions is “yes”. It is possible to hold a property owner responsible for injuries that happen at stadiums, arenas, theaters, sports facilities, and other event sites.

Some venue owners who feel pinched for money may skimp on the critical repairs or structural improvements needed to keep event attendees safe. They may also fail to hire enough staff to enforce necessary safety measures.

Property owners and venue operators have a legal duty to provide a reasonable level of safety and security for their customers. If you are injured because a stadium owner or sports facility fails to keep their patrons safe, you can sue in a premises liability lawsuit to hold them responsible for your losses. Some venue owners will require that you sign a release in an attempt to avoid responsibility. The legal issues pertaining to assumption of the risk and signed waiver defenses can be difficult to navigate. Traut Injury Law has successfully handled many such cases over the last 30+ years.

Negligent Transmission of Sexual Diseases

California’s Health and Safety Code120290 makes it a crime to intentionally transmit an STD to another person. Even still, this type of situation can be tricky due to HIPAA laws and other intricate details of the situation. Effective legal representation is a must.  In 2023, Eric and Pamela took a case to trial involving negligent transmission of a sexually transmitted disease (HPV). After five days of trial, which included hotly contested expert witness testimony, the jury delivered justice in the form of a $160,000 verdict in favor of their client. No other case of this kind has been taken to trial in California, making this a novel case and great victory.

Self-Driving Vehicles Injury or Death

Legal considerations for driverless car injury or death are significant. In such a situation, who is responsible? It could be the self-driving vehicle’s driver, the car’s manufacturer, and the manufacturer of the defective part. In simple terms, causation and driver liability are relatively easy to establish when asking the right questions and investigating all aspects of the accident. Contact Traut Injury Law for legal representation.
