History
In 1984, Eric Traut began working at the Traut Firm, founded by James Traut, Eric’s brother. With values based on litigation expertise, accessibility, connections, and results, Traut Firm made a name for itself in personal injury law by taking cases that other lawyers would not. This would be the foundation of the firm’s success, and ultimately Eric’s.
While studying Communications at Cal State Fullerton, Eric began working at Traut Firm as a private investigator. In fact, he became licensed by the state and also worked for other prestigious injury firms in Orange County. He was initially studying communications to become a newscaster or Radio DJ, and had no aspirations of becoming a lawyer. Says Eric, “Watching James and the other lawyers in trial quickly changed my mind.” Eric continues, “I was hooked.” After graduating from law school in 1989 and passing the California Bar, Eric joined Traut Firm as an associate in 1990.
In 2011, Traut Firm moved from its location at 200 W. Santa Ana Blvd. to its current location – Griffin Towers, 5 Hutton Centre Drive, Suite 700 in Santa Ana, California. We currently have three lawyers and a support staff of seven. Traut Injury Law has a reputation for success with over 120 jury trials and numerous six, seven, and eight-figure verdicts and settlements.
